A WeHaKee Moon
Tonight is our first WeHaKee Moon since the last of our Summer 2010 campers have departed. Hopefully those of you who experienced the WeHaKee Moons this summer and in summers past will be reminded of the beautiful nights when the spirit of Mary WeHaKee appeared and rode through cabin row eventually paddling across Hunter Lake singing her gentle and mysterious song. It is another beautiful night on Hunter Lake, but all is still. The summer is winding down, the campers are home and camp is quiet.
In honor of the many visits of Mary WeHaKee’s spirit, we encourage everyone to wear their WeHaKee gear today and tomorrow. And if others ask, take a moment to share about the special place that WeHaKee is.
And please step outside this evening and look up to the beautiful moon and wait for the gentle tug on your bungee cord. Let summer linger just a little longer!
