Recognition.
Campers and Staff have been busy bees these past couple of days. We had a full day of activities with some minor rain in the morning. But it was nothing that we could not handle. The nature class made a mosquito poster with facts about mosquitoes. We may dislike them most of the time, but they can be quite fascinating!
Other than that kids are getting bulls-eyes left and right, getting up on water skis and the wake board, learning how to sew in arts and crafts and knit in knitting. Parents get ready to get your ears talked off when you are reunited with your daughters because they are learning so many cool new things and it is only the beginning.
On top of activities we had our Council Fire. Council Fire tells the campers the history of Camp and Mary WeHaKee. It is fun and educational, and of course we sing lots of songs! Another great part of Council Fire is that it gives the chance the opportunity to be recognized for the amount of years they have been attending camp. Each camper receives a bead for each year they have attended and the beads are all different colors and have specific meanings that match Camp’s values. Even though the rain caused us to do our fire in our drama building -Lauerwood- the kids still got the full aspect of it.
