Preparing for Camp!
Although our summer camp season begins in a little more than two months, it may seem a bit early to begin loading the duffel bag or rolling up the pillow inside the sleeping bag, but there are some things that a parent can be doing to begin preparing themselves and their daughter to ensure the camp experience is fun and successful! Here are a few things to consider:
- RETURN THE CAMP FORMS As the end of the school year approaches, schedules get crazy and it can be really challenging to not only complete the camp forms, but to even find them! Now is a great time to fill them all out and return them to the WeHaKee Administrative Office and know they are done! You can check on your online account to see what forms you still need to return or to download forms (don’t know your account login or password, drop us an email and we’ll get it to you pronto – use this link for our contact info.
- REVIEW THE ‘WHAT TO BRING’ LIST Check this list to see what you already have and what you might need to avoid panic during the packing process. You might also save a buck or two by getting items when they may be on sale! Use this link to see the list!
- ANXIOUS?? TALK ABOUT IT! Perhaps your daughter is expressing some anxiety about heading to camp – that’s normal, especially if it is her first time. Let her know you understand, but then talk about the activities she has signed up for and how much fun that will be. Let her know she will be able to write home and that you will write her as well. AND if you’re anxious – that’s normal, too! Again, talking with your daughter about the fun she will have and how you will each write each other will help you as well!
STILL UNCERTAIN ABOUT CAMP THINGS?? Contact the directors at the Administrative Office anytime – they are happy to help! The only silly questions are the one’s never asked!
