New Program at WeHaKee!
Just introduced at WeHaKee Camp for Girls ~ The WeHaKee Leadership Academy! A new program offering designed exclusively for teen girls who will be 15 or older this summer and want to enhance their leadership abilities while having great WeHaKee fun! The WeHaKee Leadership Academy offers a three level program:
CIT1 (CIT of course means ‘Counselor-In-Training’!)
Designed as a bridge from camper to counselor, the CIT1 program will include leadership training modules as well as time to observe and help lead activities with WeHaKee staff. Participants will create a Leadership Portfolio that can be used beyond camp at school and within their communities. AND as a CIT1, participants will also have time set aside to participate and have fun in several activities, too!
CIT2/PA (The PA stands for ‘Program Assistant’)
Girls who will be completing 10th grade this spring are eligible to apply! Designed to continue their journey from camper to counselor, the CIT2/PA program will offer more advanced leadership training and opportunities to apply their leadership skills & knowledge as they assist our staff in leading select activities. Like CIT1’s, as a CIT2’s will have time set aside to participate and have fun in several activities!
JUNIOR COUNSELOR (A mentored camp counseling experience at WeHaKee!)
Girls who will be completing 11th grade this spring are eligible to apply! If chosen to participate, Junior Counselors will be part of very select group of young women. They will participate in a one week, staff-oriented training when they first arrive and then be assigned to work along side WeHaKee staff helping lead activities, create community in the cabins, ensure campers’ safety and creating a positive and exciting camper experience. JC’s will be partnered with a member of the WeHaKee staff who will act as their individual mentor and guide as they practice their leadership and counseling skills. There will also be time for participants to process their experiences with the other JC’s, sharing challenges and successes while growing as a team!
