The Spirit of Mary WeHaKee Visits Camp
Well the first few days of the third session were fantastic. Girls are amazing us left and right. Just on the first day alone they were getting up on water skis, getting bulls-eyes and using the pottery wheel for the first time. We have, yet again, another great group of girls. They are just so polite and highly skilled. Needless to say, I think our teachers will be put to the test to challenge these bright young girls.
Last night was a full moon, and we all know what that means… the spirit of Mary WeHaKee blessed us with an appearance. Yes, she is always watching over camp, but when the full moon rises she will often visit WeHaKee by riding a horse through cabin row and paddling a canoe across the lake while singing her mysterious song. Campers anxiously awaited seeing her. It truly was an amazing experience. Sadly the only evidence we have is the horse hoof prints in cabin row, but the memory should stay with the girls for years to come.
