Fridays with Franky: So Close to Summer!

This has been a week of building excitement for me and for camp! I just finished introducing the staff in last weeks Fridays with Franky, and all of them will be here next week! So many things are going on to get camp ready. My big strange dog friends (editor’s translation: the horses) arrived last week and there are already horse staff working to get them ready for all their riders. Some of them seemed to like their baths a couple days ago, some not so much. I’m sure they’ll be happy to be clean for the girls!

I’ve been sniffing around and finding other pockets of activity here at WeHaKee. Nice smelling flowers are appearing in planters and baskets, more and more boats are finding their way to the waterfront, and I can hear more people in the dining hall for every meal! It’s hard to believe that this small group will become over 30 staff members, and after that over 100 WeHaKee girls for first session, but the summer will be here before we know it!

I know our staff will be so excited and ready to have all those wonderful young ladies here starting June 23rd. Before that, all the staff will have nearly 2 weeks of training where they will stay in cabins, eat, and play together just like the campers will! Lots of learning and work will happen too! We have such a talented and diverse staff coming, it will be amazing to see them come together to make Camp WeHaKee amazing for the campers.
