Amazing What Girls Learn at WeHaKee!

A parent recently shared a wonderful story about what amazing things girls learn during their WeHaKee experiences. Her daughter’s cousin stopped by for a visit and shared that she wanted to go to New Zealand to student teach and needed to learn the New Zealand national anthem. The daughter proudly announced that “I know the New Zealand national anthem” and went on to sing it for everyone. Well, the cousin added, “Oh, but they sing it in two languages” to which the daughter replied “I know that, too!” and went on to sing that portion as well!

Amazed and a bit bewildered, the parent and the cousin asked how she learned all of this. The daughter shared that one of her counselors at WeHaKee was from New Zealand and the counselor taught her so the daughter could sing with her during the weekly Flag ceremony at WeHaKee.

Just like it says on the circle drive at camp “World’s Apart Coming Together; Camp WeHaKee”, the WeHaKee experience is international and amazing! Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
